Daphne's Green Smoothie

The perfect way to start any day! As Daphne says, you get iron, calcium, vitamins A, C, and K, manganese, antioxidants, probiotics, and protein! And as Cassandra says, it tastes delicious, too.

Ingredients

½ cup pineapple
1 carrot, peeled or washed
1 orange, peeled
1 mango, peeled and sliced
1-2 large handfuls spinach
½ inch knob of ginger, peeled (more or less to taste—adds a bit of a kick!)
¼ cup Greek yogurt
Handful of ice

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.

Tip from Lanie Hartford: Not all blenders are created equal. Some may be able to handle all the ingredients at once, while others may work better if you add the ingredients in batches.
For my particular blender, I like to blend the pineapple, orange, carrot, mango, and ginger for one minute, then add the spinach and Greek yogurt for another minute, and finish it off with one minute to blend in the ice. This works perfectly for my blender, and I never get unexpected spinach or carrot chunks!
